After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place where He was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. (Luke 10:1-3)
Ministerios De Fe Vida Nueva, a children’s home in Azacualpa, Santa Barbara, Honduras is a place that has grown near and dear to the hearts of many. The orphanage currently homes 11 children ages 10-18. Mission groups from Fillmore have been an active part in building and children’s ministries over several years. We have been active not only at the orphanage, but in town with people who desperately needed assistance with food, housing, or simply being taught the Good News. An annual trip takes place from our church every January. Contact Dave O’Byrne (507-352-5315) for questions and details if you are interested in being part of this mission trip.
“Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Axel was a young 5 month old boy that I played peek-a-boo with my hat. On one afternoon, he was crying and right away I made my way to him, pulling my hat down and saying his name. He stopped crying right away and the 2nd time my brim came up, he was smiling and so was his grandma. I don’t know if grandma is a christian, but if not I pray a seed was planted that day. 1 John 3:18 says “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth”. (Mary, January 2018)

Five years ago, Ray & Connie Krueger built an orphanage in Cite Soliel, Haiti after the earthquake and cholera outbreak. Currently there are 10 children along with Pastor Fred, his wife Elistine and their two little girls living there. Our church has helped by donating many items to try to get the orphanage on it’s feet and be able to be more independent. Connie has taken trips to Haiti both for medical purposes and to help at the orphanage and see what their needs are. If you are interested in more information about helping out with this orphanage and their many needs, please contact Connie Krueger (firstname.lastname@example.org).
